My carb needs a good cleaning but I don't have time or money to have it torn down, rebuilt and cleaned at the moment. Do spray cleaners work worth a damn?

They work good enough to make it shine again,
make sure you get into all the air bleeds, and inside the throttle bores. Put a can of intank carb cleaner (Gunk brand is real good) but will take abit for it to work. Good luck.
how about a good dose of racing fuel and a short trip on the freeway? My next door neighbor swears by MARVEL MYSTERY OIL he puts it in the tank for lack of lead and gives the carb a drink every now and then.I would clean it with the carb cleaner, put a little (hot stuff) in the tank.I use Marathon high test they say its still pure gas no corn pone. Also water is a good cleaner of your broke. Not alot though, dont want to thermal shock your motor, just abit, does alot. Pour some down the carb, then rev it up, to blow out the carbon Nieghbours might not like it, but it does shoot out carbon.
