Does anyone have any idea where I can find info about what type and width rear axle they put in the 62 Mercury Monterey?
I found one locally and I wonder if it would be a possible donor car for a 9" rear axle for my 68 standard.
I'm looking at nearly $500 to make my 8" a trac-lock anyway, so why not upgrade if I can.
From the looks of it, it's probably a 9". I wasn't able to get my hands on it, but by the way the lower two bolts looked tucked under the housing I'm betting it's a 9".
I checked the axle width post, but didn't see any 1962 or Monterey data there.
Any help would be appreciated.
