Ive known about this 68 XR7G for a few yrs now here in Tucson
its been sitting 20 yrs or more, and although the female owner loved
the car, it was out in the Az elements and sat for many yrs out
in the sun etc.
A few days ago, we struck a deal and its now in one of my garages.:jump3:
68 XR7G Hertz car, 390 4v etc.
Sometime long ago, the previous owner had installed some metel flares
to the car and even after all these yrs no signs of any cracking, pretty
amazing actually. Im not fond of them and eventually they will probably be
removed. The last few days Ive just been trying to clean it out and take
inventory of whats there etc and get an idea of what overall its going
to need. Having keys made today, and after cleaning out the fuel system,
changing the oil, and lubing up the cylinders, Im going to try to start it.
From there its all down hill, right ? haha.
My first car ever was a 71 Cougar, which soon after was a 70 Eliminator
sunroof car. 50 cars or so later, I found another cool project Ive been
wanting for a while.
Ill have more pics soon.
