Hi guys,

a just installed a new printed circuit in the dashboard for a 1970 Xr7 Cougar
it came from WCCC ,it was a new one ( remanifactured )

problem is, the lights for my gauges dont work
the markers work, the light for handbreak and oil presure works,
the high beam light works,
everything but not the lights to light up the speedometer etc..

Anybody has and idea where the problem could be ?

One more problem i just noticed,
my speedometer and rpm meter do not work
i know they worked before when the old engine was in,now
with the rebuild engine they dont work anymore...

I'm not that good in car electricity,
maybe the solution is simple, but i dont know

Cluster backlighting is controlled by the headlamp switch (you turn it to dim or brighten the lamps). Assuming everything is good in the cluster, I would look at the headlamp switch.

The speedo is a mechanical cable from the trans and the tach is inline with the feed to the coil, both are independant of the printed circuit.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bob
