Has anyone had any luck repainting the red 7 on the 67 or 68 XR7 badge? If so, what type of paint do you use?

All mine are black........

I deal specifically with 67 68 cougars at this point, but all the XR7 emblems I've had were black in color.......Keith

Oh, duh....

XR (7) should be red for all but, 71-73 should be black and I used model paint for the inside of the 7.

Thanks for the help. After looking closer at mine (pillar emblems) they are black. I've seen pictures of the red ones that looked nice so I thought I might try red as a contrast to the all-white exterior.

badge paint

HERE ARE THREE BADGES FROM A 70 XR7, THE TOP TWO STARTED OUT LOOKING LIKE THE BOTTOM, I CLEANED THE BADGE REAL GOOD AND THAN PAINTED THE INSERT WITH TESTORS MODEL PAINT , THAN SEALED THE BADGE WITH A CRISTAL CLEAR ARISOL SEALANT.
