I'm thinking of putting a 3g alt on my '69 xr7. I've read i can use a mid 90's Taurus or Mustang alternator, swap my pulley, put a 150 -175 amp fuse in, and if i've read correctly i need to put a 560ohm resistor in line with the wire coming out of the 'I' terminal of the alternator and going to the ignition switch. Question is, if I run the B+ terminal of the alternator with the big fuse to the starter solenoid, how would I wire in the stock ammeter? (I know, the stock ammeter is shunted and pretty useless but still).
Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I have that diagram. However, in letters under 'optional ammeter' it says 'don't wire your stock ammeter into this set up'
That's where my problem lies.
