Okay guys I'm back for more help. I'm rewiring the alternator, starter and solenoid in my 1968 XR7. The previous owner apparently had something against Ford starters and was running a GM version and had bypassed a bunch of the wiring.

So I pulled the tape off the wiring harness until I got back to the original wires and started matching up colors against my Cougar Electrical Assemby manual.

Here's the thing.... I have 3 extra wires.

All are 16 gauge and all are coming out of the wiring harness that runs directly in front of the radiator, from the starter, solenoid and alternator to the regulator and back to the firewall. 2 are solid red, no stripes and one is yellow.

Any ideas what the he double hockey sticks these are for?
