Where is the proper place to connect the wire for a Voltmeter Gauge? I was think that the STA post on the altenator would be the right place but the instructions say to run it off a fuse in the fuse block. I want to be able to know how many volts the altenator is putting out.

Typically the volt meter is for looking at battery conditions - the stator post on your alt is going to vary in output - it's typically used for electric chokes if your car is equiped with one. You won't know if your regulator is working if you bypass the harness side of things...?

Use any source that is 12V when the ignition is on. Tap into the fuse block or the power wire to the radio.
