I am getting ready to start the exterior restoration on my 67 cat. I will be stripping the two layers of paint and refinishing it. The question I need answered is about those trim pieces along the base of the rear windows which now look like an old aluminum frying pan. I am thinking that they can be polished to at least a somewhat shiny state. Has anyone replaced or rechromed them? Thanks.

Mine didn't need rechromed, but the studs that hold them down usually break off. I used urethane tape for holding decals on, to get mine back on.

Use JB Weld. I just did mine and from what I've heard, they should last. Check out my pics.
