Hey guys, Im new here. Glad to become apart of this forum. Been working on my 67 cougar lately, with a rebuilt 289 the rest is pretty much stock. I had a problem the other day. Went to go roll my window up and the handle started spinning freely. took it off im guessing the gears aren't catching. Maybe they're stripped? I cleaned them off cause it had a whole bunch of gunky grease but cleaning it didn't do anything. not sure what to do? Should i try and regrease it cause the gears on the passenger side window is all greased up and it works perfect. Any ideas?

are you sure the handle itself isnt slipping, like when you see people with vice grips on the shaft protruding thru the door panel inside the car?

I think i know what you mean. I think its the actually rod that the handle attaches too that is spinning freely.I cant see behind it and its not catching on to what its suppose to in order to roll the window up and down. How do you fix that?
