I am about to install a wideband O2 sensor gauge (AEM 31-4100) on Isabel and want to see what anyone who knows something about these sorts of things thinks about my chosen installation location for the sensor.

I am thinking the dual exhaust crossover would be a good spot since it will allow the sensor to be exposed to exhaust gas from both sides of the engine and meets the suggested requirement of being 36" downstream of the exhaust ports of the engine. The question I want to pose is: Is there any downside to placing the sensor in this location?

The crossover has the added benefit of there being plenty of room for the spark-plug-looking O2 sensor, I can make the 10 degree uptilt (to keep condensation out of the sensor) without a problem too.

Thoughts?

I would think it would be a good spot. I know the mid-90's Ford trucks had them in the crossover tube.
