Hi every one. I just bought my first Cougar XR7 1968 model. Here is the vin if you would like to tell me what I actually bought. Nin# 8R93J500503........ But the real question is ......Where can I get a good wiring diagram for this car.? It needs some electrical work and I want to be sure every thing is like it was stock.Thanks for your help.Tony

Ooops - forgot the second part! If you check the vendors listing on this site - under "Links" in the blue bar along the top - most of them should have your wiring diagram. I got one for my 69 from Mustangs Unlimited.

The VIN number indicates:

8 - 1968
R - San Jose assembly plant
93 - XR-7 bucket seat
J - 302 - 4V
500503 - Consecutive unit number...starts at 500000.

If you provide the other numbers on the door plate, we'll decode that for you as well.

You can also contact Jim Osborne repoductions, he has copies of every wiring diagram, plus Fact and Feature books.

make extras

I made extra copies and put the original away then you can highlite the wires you follow and not fear of smuging it up.each circut I follow I add a different color it helps
