My 69 had a piece of one left on the drivers side before teardown!

No, it was black rubber, looks like it is suppose to protect luggage from the sharp edges.

Ummm, wouldn't cheap (generic) door edge guard or a section of slit 3/16" vacuum tubing serve the same purpose???

Being a sucker for small details, I went ahead and bought a pair of these that last time I ordered some parts. Went to put them on and noticed on my '69 'vert that the inner wheelhouse lips are turned toward the quarters so the pinch weld between the two halves has a "L" at the edge, formed by the inner wheelhouse. As such, it seems as though these "windlace" rubber pieces would not go on if I tried. Carlton (or anyone), any comment on this observation?

Thanks,

Bob

Bob I know what you're talking about, but I never used anything to replace the piece that was on the Eliminator. If I remember right, it was a U shaped of rubber with one leg shorter than the other.

Interesting, Carlton, and thanks. Assume the short leg went toward the hidden side and the long would be what you would see then?
