I went to the local Autozone to get some new front wheel cylinders, because the old ones are leaking and making the car pull to the right. The part monkey's computer said that there are two different diameters of wheel cylinders for the front drums on a '67. I looked in Auto Krafters catalog and they listed different part numbers for the 289 and the 390 cars, now I am assuming that the larger diameter cylinder is from a 390 car, and the smaller diameter cylinder is from a 289 car. Am I right, or is my assumption an ASSumption?

ASSumption I'm afraid!! The Ford shop manual indicates 1.125 inch bore for 289 engines and 1.094 inch bore for 390 engines...I know...doesn't make too much sense but there it is in black and white!! BTW..the rear bores are 0.875 inch for the 289 and 0.813 for the 390. Hope this helps!:)

The reason the big block used a smaller bore is because the smaller bore will make more pressure. mm
