I finally got my new water temp and fuel gauges installed today. Now that I can accurately see what's going on for the first time in the 5 years I've had this car, I'm wondering what the average temp or safe range is for a 302? If not a 302, what motor / temp are you all running - Im kind of curious about that now.

Edit: Guess I should add that it's reading 160 as long as the car is running, and in moderate stop and go traffic.

160 Thermostat
3 row dimpled tube / dense row custom radiator
fan shroud/5 blade stock style fan w/clutch

also added black rubber block offs on each side of the radiator to avoid airflow diverting around rather than through it. If your radiator isn't filling the space I highly advise it - cost all of $1.38 for a strip of it at ACE Hardware

My 289 has a 160 thermo in it, and a mechanical gauge and reads 180-190 most of the time.
