I have done business with exactly three buyers from Mexico. Two of them were shams. Needless to say, I no longer ship to Mexico.

As soon as I posted this message my paypal said funds were recieved. I shipped to a CA address. I just hate filling out all that customs paperwork.

I don't sell anything in ebay or anywhere. So maybe there's something I don't understand. But I'd imagine there should be no problem. Just make sure you're paid in advance and if there's a hassle with extra paperwork, then charge more for areas where that's required. Item + postage + container + $5.00 maybe. Have some extra forms at home/office and have them already filled out before you get to the post office/UPS
What's so hard about that?

BTW, I HATE when I'm in line at the post office and someone ahead of me doesn't have their forms filled out. Happens way too much. You all probably know what I mean if you mail a lot of things.

I never did sell on Ebay but have bought. What is the hassle with selling to Canadians. If your going to ship whats the difference if it stays in the US or crosses the border into Canada. I bought from one company and had the shipping arrange from home and it took me about 20mins because I had not done it this way before, next time it will take minutes, simple! I dont understand, sorry just venting!

Not really a hassle to sell as long as you are paid and fill out the forms. Sent two Old IH rims to a fellow in Canada, sold them cheap, It only cost him $105. for the shipping. Less distance from me to him than me to Colorado. Glad it was him and not me, I'm too cheap!

Well, anybody that got burned with foreign shipping should be a tad uninterested about doing it again, and there's always the fact that we have 3 levels of crooks that want a piece of the action...
Federal, provincial, and municipal.

Even with shipping through mail, considered hassle-free, I still get to have to go pick up my parts at the post office, where they eagerly charge taxes so I can leave with my treasures.

I surely do understand, and eagerly join the club for needing a bit of venting. There also is a need to wonder if people doing business that way are willing to go the extra distance for the same return.

I have a lot of respect for people that still do ship to Canada, even if it means extra effort.

Everyone gets paid in advance. The problem arises when a buyer claims they didn't receive the item. Even if you jump through all the hoops, when you're shipping to a country like Mexico, you're going to lose a chargeback. I ship a lot of international and though a lot of countries aren't a problem, I have a sizable list of places that I won't ship to.

Oh, good point. Didn't think of that. Is there a problem with the mail in Mexico, or are there some (too many) dishonest individuals you've done business with who want their parts AND a refund?
Assuming the mail system is OK, it's a shame that some people ruin it for the good ones. I'd guess that most of the Cougar parts people in USA know each other. Maybe they can share info on buyers. Who's good, who's bad.
If the problem is the mail system, I'd say never mail to that country.

I know some countries have thieves in the mail system.
In a book I read http://www.loungung.com/acorn.php?page=books&book=LC

about a girl who came to USA from Cambodia, she wrote that when they mailed gifts home it could take weeks/months for the package to arrive and when it did, it had always been opened and 90% of the contents were missing.
