hi I am trying to semi restore an 1973 xr7 im missing the trim that goes toward the back of the half vinyl roof will any other trim work or will i have to buy an expensive used pc in order to install vinyl roof or will i be better off grinding off the rivets and painting it instead

I removed the vinyl top on mine and am going to paint it. The covers seem to eat the good metal under the cover, lots of rust spots, just my .02.

I like the look of the 1/2 vinyl roof on that body style. I would prefer to restore/clean the top then replace the vinyl, but that's just me.
