Lance: That VIN decodes as follows:

Model Year: 1967
Assembly Plant: Dearborn, Michigan
Body Style: Standard, Hardtop
Engine Model: 289-4V
Sequential Number: 122438

For future reference, in case you need to decode other VINs, the CCOA has an online VIN/dataplate decoder on its site at wwww.cougarclub.org.

Nothing particularly special about this car based on the VIN alone. According to Kevin Marti's book, better than half of all '67s were four-barrel cars. Now if it has a four-speed, that's another matter....

Sequential Relay

I need to replace the sequential relay for my 67 Cougar. However, there are 2 different parts available-one for "early" '67 and one for "late" '67. How can I determine which part I need? If it helps, the VIN is:7F91C 573719

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
