So I had a friend bring over his high end digital camera, and we made a video of the cougar revving up in the garage. We'd do some burnout/takeoff videos, but the cougar is missing a fender and covered in putty right now, so it's staying in it's home. :)

MPEG, right click -> save as

I made another one of the engine, but it's pretty dark.

For all you folks who wanted to hear Spintech mufflers, that's what I have. Sportsman XL.

My exhaust system:

Hooker Long Tubes, 1 5/8" primaries
2.5" true dual exhaust
X-Pipe
Dual Spintech Sportsman XL Mufflers

Don't mind the exhaust crap, it's not running so hot right now. Also, the last shop hung our exhaust too high, so the tips are blocked by the rear valance. Gotta get that fixed by the better shop in town.

Bonus video of my daily driver (DivX 5.02 required or you'll just get sound) Right Click -> Save As:

The Cougar is actually a lot louder than the Camaro, especially at idle.

The Cougar vid kinda distorted from being in the garage and stuff.

Oh, if the .avi comes up black it's because you need the DivX codec.

The Camaro is a low 14 second car. I haven't run it since I got the cat-back, but I was at a 14.2 before it. We'll see if I get any gain from the exhaust this weekend.

I think it's probably faster than the Cougar. We've never raced them, and right now the Cougar's body is in no shape to go outside.

If I had to venture a guess, the Cougar would be a mid 14 second car on good traction. The 2.80 gears and the oil leak aren't helping me any. The latter is why I don't take it to the track and find out, I don't want to dirty up the track and stop everyone from running.

Min Wage69, Cool to see someone so nearby, I live in Fontana right near you. :-D

Should let me check out your Cougar some time.

Get together...

Id love to be able to let you see my Cougar and also see yours. I say one day, when all the local Cougars are in the shape, we all meet at a local car show :D Maybe sometime soon, this summer perhaps?

I'm hoping to have mine in Fab Fords this year. :-D Should get the bodywork finished this spring, and hopefully if that's not too much, get the engine at the same time.

We need $2,500 for the engine, and god knows how much for the paint and body. Plus wheels and tires, and gears. Phew.

Gears will probably be the last thing there, though.

Your Cougar sounds great. The exhaust in my 68 sounds somewhat like yours. I could only get the audio of the Camaro, but it sounded strong.
