The vacuum headlight motor that came with my car had a plastic tie around the very top tapered end of the rubber bellows tied tight so that the top of the bellows stays in the same position on the rod as it travels up and down to lift and close the doors.
The used motor I recently bought does not have this tie at the top and the top of the bellows travels freely on the rod. The only problem with this was that the tapered top end of the bellows would at times fold inside it self as the rod traveled down and I have to manually fold it back out. I put a little lubricant on the rod and it now seems to alleviate the folding inside it self problem.

My question is if that plastic tie was standard on the bellows or a previous owner modification. Take a look at yours and let me know.
