Any suggestions for best approach to removing welded items from the underside of car? ie: if switching to manual steering, the lowering bracket for the power steering is no longer needed and ought to be removed. In this case, it was welded in place.

Ideas? Suggestions? Derogatory remarks?

My suggestion would be to cut and grind down what's left. Don't try to 'unweld' it. You would have to do it with oxy/acetylene applying heat to the weld and to the frame of your car. Not a good thing since lots of heat will actually weaken the structure of the metal where the heat was applied. You may also end up burning a hole in your frame. :eek2:
