I decided that March is my month to work under the dash of my 68 and replace the heater core as well as to check out the cowl. Got a leak on both sides but I think it is more likely the window installation than the cowl, but might as well find out. I have A/C in my car and see that I am going to have to drain the coolant and purge the A/C. Anything else I need to worry about? I know about the one bolt on the side that is not in the books but I'm sure I'll find something else. What I plan on doing is putting POR in the area of the cowl hat, if necessary, and maybe even put one of the cowl repair hats in the holes.
Second question. My wife's 69 trunk lock has what looks like a 68 trunk lock "extension", that piece of metal that goes from the lock cylinder to the lock itself. It is straight and I have been told that it should have a bend in it to help unlock the trunk easier. The problem is that I was told it should have and up-and-down bend or a sidewise bend. Any help?
