I've been a member here for about a year now, havnt posted in any other thread besides 67-68 parts and cougars for sale. Ive had my two cats for less than a year, and finally after months and months, got the cars to my house and soon will be tearing into them. My one is a 68 standard 3speed parts car i picked up cheap, and the other is a std 68 J code which the body is MINT. Been collecting parts here and their, patiently awating my cars arrival.

My question is this:
I have a 68 Top Loader that came out of a cougar/mustang (according to the id tag) years ago. I'm planning to install it on the J code. It has a hurst shifter assembly on it, where reverse is to the driver and foward. If I find a 68 shifter assembly with linkages, am I able to switch the shift pattern back to the original??

Also from you experienced members with these transmissions, which would you recommend more, the standard 68 shifters or the hurst shifters??

Thanks
Ryan
