^^that^^ or... Do you have 14x6 or 14x7 Magnums? For 14x6, 215/70-14, but if 14x7 either 225/70-14 or 245/60-14.

I also like the Firestone Indy 500 in either 215- or 225-70 14.

good stuff Milo, thanks. i think they are 14x7. kinda' tough to tell with the tires still on, or is there an easy way? curious how you learned this info. i cannot find any decent gouge on the internet or in my shop manuals.

seems to look best with the raised white letters. thanks-

I have sets of both 14x6 and 14x7 painted Magnums. The trim rings are different, too, with the 14x7s using a deeper trim ring. If you measure your wheels, tell me what/where you're measuring I'll measure mine the same way.

i didn't know Magnums came with trim rings? i am measuring/estimating the distance between the edge of the rims where the tire bead sits-

Yep, the painted Magnums came with trim rings. These would be your basic Ranchero and Granada optional wheels.

Here's a pic of BetaCat from 20+ years ago wearing 14x6 painted Magnums in the front and 14x7 painted Magnums on the rear.

Yes, my 14x6s came from a Granada, and the 14x7s came from a mid-70s LTD II. I have complete sets of four of each. BetaCat's 'normal' tires/wheels are the 14x6s with 215/70-14, and I had mounted some fatter tires (G-60-14 or 245/60-14 in todayspeak) on the 14x7s and put those on the rear for better traction at the dragstrip.

I went with the Pepboys special Futura GTs 225 70 r 14's on my 70 but I fully intended to abuse them like there was no tommorrow. Not many 14" tires around these days.

I agree, although there's actually nothing wrong with using 225/70-14s on 14x6 wheels.
If you have 14x7s, the extra width of the 245s is nice, but the diameter is about 3/4" shorter than 225/70s. That's enough to be noticeable. I've used both in the past, and personally I prefer the way the 225/70s fill up the wheelwells a little more, at least from the side.
My two cents.

You know I am not sure. They had a buy 3 get on free sale last summer and for $60 a tire I could not say no. I pretty much abuse them. Just keep in mind that in the rain they are not exactly safe LOL.
