WELL FINALLY :jump3:, after 24 years (yes I said 24 years) of being off the road (bought the car in Nov. 1984 and last driven in June 1988), my CAT was picked up this morning for bodywork and paint. The car is going to be chemically stripped (the bodyguy prefers that and so do I). So, without further ado, here are some pics as of today. Enjoy :) John DSC01469.jpg DSC01470.jpg DSC01471.jpg DSC01472.jpg DSC01473.jpg

Nice John! Yeah, some repairs are needed, looks like maybe the cowl too from the look of the front floors. Not enough to scare an ECI mind you. :buck: I dig the pictures/documentation buddy! Best of luck and hope your body man will be both kind to you (i.e. $$), fast and does good work!

Regards,

Bob

Thanks Bob, yeah about the cowl, the body man is gonna remove the top of the cowl after the car has been chemically stripped to do any repairs to the cowl vent(s), then coat it with a rust inhibitor and paint it body color before welding the top piece back on (I'm sure he'll coat the underneath of the top cowl with rust inhibitor and paint body color also, I'll remind him). You're also right about the floors, the drivers side is worse than the pass. side IMO, (toe board wise, of course that can change after it's dipped a bout the pass. side) the DS torque box definitely will need to be replaced. I hope my body man is kind also about $$, (he has so far, he's taking the car and parts Fri to be stripped and is only charging me for 1 day of labor, 8 hrs at $50 an hour even though the round trip is 14+ hours plus gas). John

OK, this is the last of the "before" pics of the car before it's stripped. John DSC01538.jpg DSC01540.jpg

A little update, I talked to my body man Chris today and he's taking the car to be chemically stripped tomorrow. WOOHOO!! Praying that after it's stripped, that no unexpected areas come up. We'll see. John
