I have to change my heater core (67 289) anyone with past experiance got any suggestions on what to avoid, in terms of not getting a pool of antifreeze on the passenger floor or other tips on replacement?
Here's a previous thread on the subject. A search for 'heater core' will bring up other threads as well. I can think of better ways to spend the weekend, fortunately these things don't have to be replaced often.
I posted this on another heater core post last month sometime. Put down plastic bags and then towels ( towel will soak up most of the water and the plastic will keep it off your carpet) under the heater core to catch the antifreeze and water. You WILL leak some, be prepared for it. Be gentle also, it will be brittle and crack if forced out to hard. Be patient, and drink the beer AFTER its done.lol.
