The car = 1970 Standard Cougar, 351C 4V 4 speed.

The <cite>Sylvania</cite> replacement bulb number is 1157 and 1157a. I've read the SBL website instructions but am a bit confused as to whether or not I'll need load resistors on these. They are for the taillights and the front turn signals.

For turn signals you will. It is the flasher that is the issue with LED's. The LED's don't draw much amperage so the flasher does go through its heat cycles properly, so it causes it to flash rapidly. You could try an electronic flasher, but I think they act the same way. I believe with the new electronic sequencer boards out there you don't need the equalizers. I know I had to have one on my bike, and it had an electronic flasher.
