The pancake breakfast starts at 7:00am at the Esparto High School although we'll be there ~9:30a. We will look to finish w/breakfast and business ~10:30a or so and go out to the car show & vendor fair right outside the school. Once we get everyone together ~11:30a or so, we'll head up RT16 towards Rumsey for the BBQ. Make sure yo've got your cell phone so we can stay in contact. If you need my number, let me know.
Events during the festival include a Farmer’s Market, climbable hay pyramid, Friends of The Esparto Library (FERL) Book Sale, the “Ultimate Madison Fire Depatment Car Show” featuring both modern and classic cars, petting zoo, a live blacksmith working his craft, a bee keeper and live hive, agricultural education and history, old engine chugger & tractor displays, along with genuine farm equipment and a large children’s area with free activities. There are five live bands planned along the 29 mile route from Esparto to Rumsey.
Start with a hearty breakfast at 7 a.m. prepared by the Future Farmers of America (FFA), and then work your way through Esparto and up the valley. Feast corndogs, caramel apples, tri-tip, BBQ oysters, hand pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ, and don’t forget Granny Wyatt’s legendary Almond Roca. Then go the distance with famous Rumsey Ribs served with local greens. Capay Valley Vineyards in Brooks will also be open for wine tasting and a wine and beer garden will be set up in downtown Esparto at the fire department.
