I've been working on a 69 XR7, equipped with the two piece brake rotor/hub assemblies. However, every rotor I've found that matches the fitment guide for 1969 is a 1-piece rotor that does not fit without scraping on the dust cover. Is this a late-model/1970 issue, or am I just missing something here? Does anyone know where to find the 2 piece rotors, or really anything that fits the same? Any and all help is appreciated!

You may have the only Cougar equipped with 2 piece rotors. Factory was the typical 1 piece cast iron. As far as I can tell there was no factory 2 piece option. I honestly thought that 2 piece rotor was a recent development for street legal cars. Was your car set up for racing at some pint in its history? Are there any part numbers or manufacturer's identification on your old rotors?

As far as I know, the only upgrades to the car were cosmetic; of course, anything is possible with the previous owner. The hub has no brand markings, but reads 210030-6 or -C (it’s pretty rusty). The rotor is unmarked. The curious thing is that from what I can find, the spindle and dust cover seem to match most OEM parts; however, any new rotor I buy seems to have a mounting face that’s larger and shallower, so they rub on the dust cover once installed.

All of the 1968 - 69 Cougar / Mustang / Fairlane / Comets used two piece rotors on the front discs. Aftermarket one piece replacements have always fit fine for me. The wheel bearing size was changed for 1970 - 73 but the rotor did not change.
