Recently I was driving and went to signal right and, instead of clicking into position, it made plastic breaking sound. So now I have to physically hold it up to signal a right turn. It still clicks into position for a left turn and the lights come on fine. I think a piece broke in my steering column, does anyone have an idea of what part it is?

Thanks.

You need either a new turn signal switch ($$) or a turn signal switch repair kit (cheap). Your favorite parts vendor should have both.

My $0.02 worth: the cam broke, which is part of the kit Bob mentioned. My one experience with that repair is that it lasted a year, and I hardly drive the car (2000/miles or less per year). I replaced it with a new switch (about $75-80 or so these days) and that's been fine for 10 years or so. And, it wasn't as hard to install as I thought it would be.
