Nope - I kinda wonder if some of them aren't just re-branded though? You do have to be careful to match the thing to your application though. Ford made 2 different depth nose cones (at least) depending on the trans. (different thickness in cases I guess) - some had shims as well.
If I were to buy a starter that I could depend on and never have to worry about, it would be a Tilton. Pricey but powerful and tough as nails, spins my 13/1 c/r Windsor motor just fine. I have rotated mine (SBF) to get the solenoid away from the starter.
Don't know why but FE's tend to eat starters.
FE or 429-460?
