I had the housing thoroughly cleaned, primed and por15 and when I sat it on the new springs, the pins did not fall into the hole. WTH!?!? So I measure and I get 45 inches center to center on the spring mounts. Dang. I could have sworn I measured 43.5 when I bought the thing! The overall width is exactly right at 54.25. I pushed on the springs outward and it fell in but to do this would put a bit of twist on the eye of the springs. If I was just street driving this I would use it. For what I am going to do with this cat I think I will disassemble my other 9 incher and use that housing (which I have measured and is right) . So what the heck is this out of?

Spring C-C distance is 44"
Sometimes the springs must be spread/pulled together to get the housing to fall into place.
