I pulled my waterpump today and found some kind of white-greenish stuff, which feels like plastic and has a grainy texture. Anybody an idea what it may be? Some piece of a plastic gear or something or maybe some type of sealant for leaks?
I've attached a photo of it (it's in the pipe).
Got me kind of puzzled. Not that it's a real problem for I'm swapping the engine block anyway, but I'm kind of curious.

Thanks,
Matthijs

Looks chrystalin some chemical added that has chrystalized over time. Check radiator closely before reusing with new engine.

Radiator is gonna go. It doesn't fit, got major dents and is old and rusty. Not suited for auto tranny either, so I'm not re-using that.
But if some kind of crystaline or something I'll assume the heater core will be leaking. It's bypassed now, so I'm not sure, but better assume the worst. Good part is that it isn't mandatory here for a 68 car..

Thanks,
Matthijs
