From the outside in, it's marker, gasket, light, and then body, right?

The reason I'm asking, is that I have the new white foam material gaskets from WCCC, and when I reinstalled everything, the bezels now stick out away from the body by at least an 1/8 inch. Aren't they supposed to be against the body?

Yes, they are supposed to be flush with the body. I think the white gasket you're referring to goes under the lens. There is no gasket between the housing and the quarter.

So, it's chrome bezel, lens, and then gasket....... Got it!

Brian, I was just talking to XMH and he was looking at his '68 that is mostly original and he said there is a seal against the body. Here's what WCCC has on there site: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/d522.html . John

I guess we should back up and ask what year car we are talking about. I assumed 1970 and gave my answer with that year in mind. 68 did in fact have a large black rubber/plastic gasket between the chrome housing and body and another gasket between the lens and the chrome housing.
