Well I guess that all depends on whether or not you have a 40 ton press and appropriate fixturing...

Or, perhaps I spoke too soon, how much can you bench? :buck:

If you have the proper tools you can press them on. However, getting them off is the trick. Around here only a few shops know how to do them correctly -- about $25/side

You do NOT need a press! I have one but it is easier to just get a piece of pipe that is just larger than the axle slide it over and use it like a slide hammer. takes about 20 seconds to press the bearing on.

I saw someone once use a tool kind of like what you're talking about.
