I'm trying to recreate a car that was stolen 32 years ago. It was a '68 with a 302 and a toploader 4-spd. What was the most common rear end ratio for that configuration? I just picked up a parts car that has a 3.25 9" and I'm hoping that's close to what the car I had in high school had...

A small block would have had an 8" rear end.

Can't speak to what they came with originally, but 3.25 is a good ratio for a toploader.

If you still have the Vin from the stolen car, Marti Auto Works can tell you exactly how it was optioned from the factory.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm still curious though, what ratio rear end did Ford most likely put behind their small block/wide ratio 4 speed transmissions?
