My LH axle is leaking around the seal. Not alot, but enough to annoy. This seal lasted ~2000 miles before it started to leak. There likely is a groove worn into the axle right where it meets the seal. I've heard there are sleeves available in the aftermarket meant to slip over the axle to cover any sharp edges or grooves, and thereby protect the seal from abnormal wear. Has anyone ever used such a sleeve? If so, was it easy to install? Please relate your experience(s).

Steve, I have used the "Speedi Sleves" on several things before but never on a rear axle. I dont know why they wouldnt work just fine.

If your good local auto supply store dont list one try a industrial bearing supply house but make sure you have your exact axle dia with you for sizing purposes. You really need to make sure theres a good tight press fit on it when its installed and might intail the ole put the axle in the freezer and the sleeve in the oven routine to get it on the axle. mm
