I am in the process of getting the power steering up and going on my '70 standard cougar. I put a new power steering pump in today, but there is fluid leaking out of the control valve (as my repair manual calls it) the steering is also not as effortless as it should be, I have concluded that something needs done with the control valve. Now, is there a rebuild kit for these, or do I need to replace the entire thing at 90 bucks? it is leaking fluid out where the pitman arm attaches to it every time the wheel is turned.
any help appreciated,
Thanx
Justin

Go get a rebuilt. Auto Zone has them for around $80. I spent around $60 rebuilding mine. For $20 bucks you get to save time and get a waranty with it. Dont forget to check your assist cyl while your under there. Make sure its not leaking and that the boots good.mm
