I am going to use 15" Centerline Auto Drag wheels and I would like to know whats the largest(widest) rear tire I can run on 68 Cougar with what size rim and backspacing should I use , hoping maybe either 255/60-15 or 275/60-15 tires will work

I have P235R60/15's up front and 275's in the rear with 1" extra lift from air shocks. This was the set up on the car when I bought it. I only get rub on the drivers side rear when I turn right up a slight curb or driveway. I upgraded to Goodrich Radial T/A's from Pep Boy specials. I think if I went with 265's instead that might have been just enough to eliminate that.

While these are on 17" wheels instead of 15s the rear tires are 275x40ZR17 on 10" wheels with 6" backspacing.

I'm currently sporting 255/60R-15's. I removed the air shocks and installed KYB Gas Adjust shocks but I will get rubbing if I hit a bump at higher speeds, otherwise I'm fine.
