I am considering using 16" wheels, ( magnum 500's) and was wondering if anyone using them has had any problems.
Turning, clearing the stock disc brakes, wheel well openings, etc.
This would be on my 1969 Cougar with stock 69 disc brakes.
15 X 7 inch Magnums. Any tire recommendations?
Thanks Cat Fans.

16 inchers

I know this won't help, but my 1990 cougar already has 16's and their great. I have already burned a set off the back. Why not try to find newer cougar wheels, will they fit. Other than that there is a great web site for tires called www.tirerack.com you can pick your car then the wheels. But for one as old as yours maybe not...but its fun anyway

Lots of Cougars have 16" on them, with tire sizes of 225/60R16 and 245/60R16 (Front), with even larger at the rear. 4.5" backspacing. These are 16x8, not 16x7 though. I'm running 16x8 Cobra R rims on a 69, but I hade to use a custom 5/8" spacer to get the right offset.
