My friend replaced the p/s hoses and his pump/reservoir on his 70. The pump which came from. Autozone came with a o ring and nylon washer/ bushing. Are those needed? I don't remember any o rings, but it's been so long. Are there o rings anywhere in the hose ends? What about Teflon tape on the threads?
Any help appreciated.

Hmm. Appears I have maybe stumped everyone with this question.

Sounds normal, although the round gasket was originally paper. The factory shop manual shows all of this in excruciating detail.Teflon tape will not help and might even hurt so don't use that or any other type of sealant.

If the "o" ring is about 4" its for when pump is opened up . just put one on my 67
