Hey guys,

I have a 99 Cougar 4 cyl and my car won't start. It has been sitting at the dealership for about 3 months because of the price they quoted me to fix it. They say the I need a new PCM or some kind of computer for the car because my security system has failed, preventing the car from starting.

Now, I have had a 94 Camaro with the same problem and all I had to do was cut the ignition wire that read the resistance from the key and add a resistor that matched in its place. After doing that, the computer always read the correct resistance when I went to start the car.

Could someone show me how this could be done ON THIS CAR?

That's a link to a forum that caters to the new Cougars. Most of us here have classic Cougars and little knowledge of the late model ones.
