I have a 2.5 V6 99 cougar. I have had this code for about 2 months now, just wondering if it means my catalytic converter needs to be replaced? HOS2 says ready on the I/M menu, so I dont believe its a sensor, although it could be.

The p1151 code is "HO2S Bank 2 Sen1 Insuff. switching Lean". Im kind of confused on what this could be? Should I just replace the O2 sensor in bank 2?

Ever since this I have been getting terrible gas mileage (around 14-17 mpg)

Not a late model forum here really.....sometimes there is more than one sensor I'd move them around and see if it follows to bank 1. Also check the MAF and other sensors they could be cruded up (be sure your air filter is clean first). Good luck
