Well the 351W stroker is now out of the beast waiting for its new internals. In the meanwhile the trusty old 351C is back in. Of course I'll have to run the C back at the track and spray it with a 175 shot to see if it'll outrun the stroker.

But...when the stroker comes back on line the stroker will have AFR205's, Super Victor intake, solid roller cam. Still debating the internal rotating assembly as it's a custom 4.20" stroke cast crank assy....

Any guesses on the 351C ET with spray? :p

Any guesses on the stroker with the new combo? :D

The stroker on motor was good for 12.4x's on street radials through the mufflers. The C was good for 13.teens in the same combo.

With spray? Well the stroker went a scoop-ripping 11.38 @ 124...

The C hasn't tasted the spray yet.:p:

My 351-C has a D2AE 4-bolt block as well bored 30-over with TRW Flattops. I am running the D1AE closed chamber heads with stainless valves and roller rockers of course. I am running a Holley Strip Dominator Intake with a modified 850DP. I am currently running a custom ground soild flat tappet camshaft with lift around 600 degrees and duration in the 245 degree area @ 50. Dynomax 1-5/8 headers with 3-inch pipes and mufflers. I am running a C-4 tranny with a 9 1/2-inch 3500 converter and 4.11's with a detroit locker. The compression on my motor is around 10.2 and I drive it reguarly with 93 octane pump gas. The car weighs 3550 without me so it weighs about 3700 lbs. race ready with me. It has run a 1.8 60 ft. time so far naturally and a 1.69 with 100 HP of nitrous. I have yet to get it on a quarter mile track but it has recently run a 7.4 on the nitrous and 8.1 on the motor. These times should be about 12.40's naturally and 11.50's on the juice!!

Kirk - aka FastCat!

Your combo is similar to my old 351C combo. It was a 12.5:1 motor, Weiand X-Celerator (dog!) manifold, totally stock heads as far as porting & valves, Crane F246 solid cam, 700 DP, 2200 GER (nasty!) convertor, FMX trans, 4.11 gears, 26" slicks, 1 5/8" Blackjack headers.
That motor ran 8.00 @ 89MPH in the 1/8th and 12.40 @ 110-111 in the 1/4mile. Best ET was 12.37

The new (old) C is much tamer. Stock heads again, Edelbrock performer (now replaced with Torker), Hyd roller 230,238 with .595 lift, 750 vacuum secondary, 2000 convertor, FMX, 4.11's. The car ran 8.25's in the 1/8th and 13.05's in the 1/4 @ 102-104MPH. Total dog I would say.

Same motor is back in the car but this time the torker is on and a much improved carb is on. Trans is now C6 with a B&M holeshot (2200), 3.50 gears (highway). The rest stayed the same. We'll see what it does.

The stroker motor was up and down on ET. One day it would run 12.40s with street tires and mufflers, the next it would be 12.80's. Found a nasty carb problem that might have made it more consistent. However it laid down on me the last time I nailed it before the opening race this season. When I yanked the motor two of the plugs were toast. Can you say N2O lean-out?

On spray the car went 7.41 @ 98.5 in the 1/8th and 11.39 @ 123 in the 1/4 after I lifted when the hood scoop ripped off!

My 1995 Cobra only runs 98 in the quarter!

So we'll see how she does. It is only temporary housing for the C as the W is getting its new internals et al. Can you say 10-oh?:D

PM me for more.

Bill
