Hello All,

I took my car into the shop the other day to get the check engine light looked at. Mechanic pulled the code P0340 and turned off the light. Said that the Camshaft Position Sensor was just acting up. I took it in a few days later, and the mechanic changed the sensor and said that the light shouldn't come on again.

It did. This time, he double checked the sensor, and ran some tests on the computer. PCM, maybe? Anyways, he said that there was "No Resistance" or something like that and that I should get the computer reprogrammed or maybe replaced.

I have no idea where to begin. Is this something that I should worry about? Is my car going to suddenly explode?

Obviously I'm a newbie when it comes to cars. I drive a 2002 Mercury Cougar.
