My Cougar came without the outside lock assembly.................. I bought one on Ebay but it won't work because something is missing inside the trunk.....There is nothing there to hold the outside assembly in place.....Thx RW

The trunk lock cover is held on by two nuts and two angled ferrels (spacers). There is a rod sticking out of the lock that would slide through a hole in the latch. The latch is mounted inside the trunk lid. I hope this helps.

Not that I know of...they are '67-'68 Cougar specific. My car was missing one when I got it, and the previous owner had put a piece of rubber hose in the place of it to work...wasn't the best, but it was better than nothing!
