I bought this engine a year ago planned to put into my 69.
When I got the 428CJ this engine was dropped away in my garage. I had only a few info on this engine. The seller sold as a 460 came out of a motorhome and it was rebuilt. Nothing else.
After the first close inspection I found that the cylinder heads where different. One of them was a D0VE casting and the other was a D3AE. As I continued to check the engine I found many different casting numbers from D0VE-A to D3XXX. Today I decided to take it apart completely and I surprised of what I found inside.
It has 4 bolt mains and rods with C9 casting numbers. Found a "J" mark on the backside of the block and "CJ3" casting in the lifter valley above the casting date code. The block itself has a D0VE-A casting number.
I am wondering maybe this is a 429CJ or SCJ block. However I found 460 mark.
