Hello all,<br><br>

Here are some pix of my rather uncommon 1971 Cougar. She is all original and equipped with a 429CJ-R and AC. She is one of 29 hardtops built with the J code engine.<br><br>

If you are in the Midwest, look for me at various car shows or at the Hot Rod Power Tour. Stop by and say "Hi!"<br><br>

Cheers,<br>

Thanks, and a question too...

Hi Tim,

You have a nice ride too -- I checked out your web site. FYI, according to Kevin Marti, my Coug is actually one of 9 made -- the other 20 were GTs. It is one of only two in the registry.

Do you know if anyone reproduces the Ram Air seal for the '69-70 Cats? I know there is none available for the 1971, but it looks like I could use the '69 seal and modify it to include the cutout for the locating tab on the front of the air cleaner lid.

Cheers,
Dan Davis

73XR-7owner...

It has 96000. I am sure it will hit 100K next year, sespecially if we do the "Long Haul" on the Hot Rod Power Tour as we have planned now.

As you can tell, I do not believe in keeping cars in garages or on trailers. When I am in town and the weather is nice, I drive it -- to work, out cruisin', to the grocery store, whereever.

BTW. the 351-4V '73 is pretty rare in it's own right. I don't have the book in front of me, but I think less than 2K were made!

Ram Air Seal

Tim,

They are different, at least slightly. The 1971 had a unique service part number, but the only difference I see is that the '71 had a locating tab on the front of the air cleaner (both the base & the lid). You can see it if you look at the pic of my Coug's air cleaner.

Last time I tried Perogie he sent me a Mustang piece that was no where near close. George knows Torinos really well, but I am not so sure of how well he knows the other models.
