May 11 1969 at MIS wolverine trans am race. Race took place on my birthday, but I was only four years old at the time. Here is a 68 Cougar XR7 stuck in the infield. The track was new and bad weather made it muddy. Can see all the photo's here: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=8328.0

"Horst Kwech's Mustang went off the track on lap 8 at 120mph in the wet and went through the fence injuring 12 people, one fatally. The helicopter was taking the most seriously injured man to the hospital but he did not survive".

Here is another picture I have of the wrecked Mustang. Rumored to still be stored in a warehouse. I have a photo of it in storage somewhere :uhoh:.
