I see cougars, mustangs, etc. for sale that says things from the Marti Report.....what exactly is this? I'm guessing it is some registry that has information on all VIN #'s and if so where can I find out about my own car? Thanks in advance......Keith
Kevin Marti acquired all the actual Data reels and files on the production of the classic Mustangs and Cougars... He can give you almost any production details you would ever want to know about your car.
He also produced a book called "Cougars by the numbers" which chronicles the production numbers for the Classic Cougars.
I believe (from memory) that Kevin's database only goes back to 1967. Seems Ford was using a paper system prior to that and didn't have it databased. There's also a person here in the local Detroit area(Dearborn) that can reprint(or copy) your invoice. I'll have to see if I can find the contact on this. I know the phone number was on the corkboard at National Parts Depot here....Good excuse to stop by and I believe it was in a recent magazine.
For my car the report was neat but it won't help for the future value since the exterior color and interior colors have changed in prior ownership. And I'm not a fan of green so they'll never go back in my ownership...sorry to those purists.
Kevin Marti's "Cougar... by the Numbers" is a great little book! Buy 2, you'll wear one out! The stats are amazing. I haven't gotten his report yet.......soon.
The Eminger Report is very similar to the window sticker, except it has the dealer costs also. It is the original, not a copy and it's the only one. You can see a copy of it below, at the bottom of my Cougar page>>>>>>
I would be very interested in the contact info for the guy that can get his hands on copies of the original invoice. If you come across it can you post it up here so that we can get in touch with him....
Here's a link to a scan of the flyer with the original invoices. I thought this would be best versus me trying to retype everthing. I have not used this so I can't commit on what the product or service is like. But, I did see them in a previous magazine article. Good luck and enjoy.
